I am sad to post that my last living grandparent, Rev. George Snyder, past away last week. He left this world with an amazing past and long and marvelous trail behind him. Even on his way out of this current life he still managed to reach out to those in need of guidance and faith. Truly he was a blessed and skilled man. Even with his strong faith and wonderful past, he feared that he would never make it to heaven. If that’s true, then as stated by one of my cousin’s who was with him at the time, if he won’t make it then there would be no hope for any of us. But we all believe he has moved onto a better and purer life, where he is once again with his wife, and experiencing joy far greater then finding the purest diamond or a journey more remarkable then any of his trips in the past. I’ll miss the long and deep conversations about faith, his past and philosophy. I’ll miss his ability to retain a magnificent amount of knowledge. But what I will truly miss is the chance that he never got to hold our son, or any future child of ours. But I believe he is with us by our side, nagging at us from the sidelines at our stupid human mistakes, and pleased when we manage to succeed. Christine and I will miss you Grandpa, but only temporarily.
Introducing to the world …. or the 7 people that come to this site, Calvin Baird Snyder. He is 9 oz. and in good condition so far. It took a lot of patience, and some poking for Calvin to finally give up the mystery of what he was. Even at 4 months he is acting up. I guess it’s time to pick out the time out corner and a nice chair (or beanbag).
To anyone who would like to register, please feel free. When you do, be sure to add your first and last name as your ID, or shoot me an e-mail to verify that you are a human. People have created bots that seek out Wordpress blog sites, and they do all kinds of fun stuff like post spam comments, create false accounts, and so on. So again, when you sign up, use your real name as your ID or send me an e-mail saying “I am a real person, not an evil program, please do not send my account into the great abyss.” Note: Feel free to take any artistic liberties on your e-mail, just don’t pretend to be a Nigerian Prince with financial woes.
So Christine was in a minor accident on August 13. When I arrived she was fine, but shaken, as to be expected. After we talked to the officers, and the car was towed, we took her down to the E.R. to make sure the baby was alright. After about 2 hours of waiting, nurses trying to find the heart beat, waiting some more, another nurse came in and was able to locate the heart. We were both very thankful that no one got hurt.
Christine and I are excited to show the very first image of our baby. Our little baby nugget is 7 weeks old, and we are already contemplating if he/she is a he or she. Stay tuned to find out!
For the third time (second time recorded by us) Christine made it on the news. This time it was Fox 4 evening news and the job transition group at Church of the Resurrection.
We’ll unfortunately I had to change the way people leave comments. After about two months of having this particular site live, the spam bots found me and were bombarding me with all kinds of annoying comments. So, I had to decide if I wanted to use CAPTCHA security (where you have to type in a set of random letters and numbers) or do a subscription. And for now I choose subscription, because CAPTCHA can be very annoying for users to deal with. So as long as the spam bots can’t figure how to subscribe, I will stick with this. If one day you come back and it has changed you will know why.
Sorry if it’s an inconvienance, but please don’t let it deter you from participating.
I dont know if anyone noticed but the site was down. I was trying to upgrade the guts of the site, but was having very little luck, until now. So far everything seems to be working and if you are having any issues with anything let me know and I will see what I can do to help!
Although times aren’t exactly on the up and up what with our recent announcement that the company I work for may or may not be around next year, dosen’t mean we can’t have fun … and for free! Chris and Erica invited Christine and I to the Chrifs game with tickets Ericas mom won through a contest. They would supply the tickets and trasportation and Christine and I will pick up the parking. During our slow drive into the arena parking area, some gentleman in a pickup truck beside us was waving something at us. Erica rolls the window down, grabs it and … whoa … a free parking pass. Evedentally this guy had an extra and we just happened to be there to get it from him. So even though the weather went from 60 degrees and windy that morning to 20 degrees and freezing by the time we sat down, and even though the Chiefs gave up their win to the Chargers with in the last 1:31 of the game … and even though we spent over 20 bucks on 4 cups of hot chocolate (you read that right) it was all free, and we had a great and memorable time.
